
The holidays are in full swing in Davie County this weekend with a host of activities you won’t want to miss!
Cookies with Santa – Friday, December 10
Head to the Davie Family YMCA from 5-7 p.m. for storytime with Santa complete with cookies, milk, and hot cocoa. The first 100 children will receive a special present. This is a FREE event. Masks are required for ages 5 and up.

Carriage Rides – Friday, December 10
What better way to enjoy the Christmas lights and the spirit of the holidays than a ride through Historic Downtown Mocksville in a horse-drawn carriage! The buggy can hold 4-6 people so bring the family and enjoy a FREE carriage ride down Main Street and the downtown area. Carriages will depart from 34 West Depot Street near Lydia Jaynes on Friday night, December 10 from 6-8 p.m. Parking is available at Town Hall.
Advance Christmas Parade – Saturday, December 11
On Saturday morning, grab a hot chocolate and head to the 26th annual Advance Christmas Parade sponsored by the Advance Fire Department. The parade features walkers, bands, individual entries like antique cars four-wheelers, floats, and fire trucks, and of course, Santa. The parade begins at 10 a.m. at Shady Grove Elementary and follows Cornatzer Road, turning right onto Highway 801 and left on Peoples Creek Road. The parade will be held rain or shine.

Winterfest – Saturday, December 11
After the parade, grab a bite to eat at one of Davie County’s delectable restaurants and then head to Mocksville’s Main Street Park at noon for a delightful day of holiday fun for the young and the young-at-heart.
- Noon – 2 p.m. – Traveling Storybook – Children will enjoy reading the charming winter tale, One Snowy Day, page by page, as they journey through Downtown Mocksville. The story will begin at Main Street Park and continue at each downtown merchant.
- Noon – 4 p.m. – Ice Sculpting – You will be in awe as Chef Al Romano, owner of Fire and Ice, and his crew carve, chisel, and shape simple blocks of ice into stunning works of art.
- Noon- 4 p.m. – Sounds of the Season – Barry Rentz and his Mobile Jukebox will be downtown playing all of your favorite holiday hits.
- 6 – 7:30 p.m. – The Christmas classics will take on a bluegrass flair as the Two Pickers, Eva & Danny Casstevens, take center stage outside of the Artist Market on Main.
Christmas Celebration at the Brock – Saturday, December 11
Nothing beats the joyful strains of Christmas music. Enjoy the sounds of the season for free at the Sixth Annual Christmas Celebration at the Brock on December 11th at 7 p.m. Sponsored by the Davie County Arts Council, the concert will feature Carolers of Christmas Past, Gianinni Brass, and some special visitors from the North Pole.
